Simulated Salivary Fluids (SSF) Applications
Biorelevant simulated salivary fluids (SSFs) that can be uniformly applied for oral cavity dissolution testing are developed. Simulated Salivary Fluids (SSF) or Human synthetic Saliva (SS), which was primarily utilized by Diagnostic companies for the testing of Biosensor Devices, Biomedical, Dental, and Pharmaceutical Industries, and laboratories as a matrix for quality control preparations. Our Artificial Saliva solutions are formulated both according to official testing methods as well as published research on the use of Artificial Saliva. By using our artificial saliva, our customers are able to save time and ensure the same repeatable results anywhere, anytime.
This ready-to-use solution has the same composition as Real Human Saliva Medium and closely resembles human Saliva. This formulation contains non-toxic preservatives (optional) to avoid bacteria/Mold growth and can be stored at room temperature. The pH of the Artificial Saliva Stabilized is 6.8 (customizable on request as per the customer’s project requirements).

Artificial Saliva Preparation
Physicochemical properties including pH, buffer capacity, surface tension, and viscosity is assessed during development and optimized to mimic human saliva (HS). In order to account for the salivary proteins in HS, the use of bovine submaxillary mucin (BSM) and porcine gastric mucin (PGM) in SSFs is evaluated.
